Rules & Regs

Entry Conditions:
Online nomination will be available via the website link
  • Competitors must be 16 years or older on date of the race
  • Competitor’s bike and riding gear must be in good condition and be able to pass scrutineering
  • Long sleeve jerseys and long riding pants are mandatory
  • Minimum of 2 litre Camelback’s shall be used by all riders

Online Registration:

  • Riders can register online via this website’s nomination page link to nominate for the individual Doorawarrah event.
  • All riders must be a member of the Desert Motorcycle Club in order to nominate for the individual Doorawarrah race. Forms part of the nomination process.

Rider Withdrawal:

  • Should a rider wish to withdraw from the event, no refund will be given.

Race Machines (Bikes/Quads):

  • The bike scrutineered for prologue must be the bike that is used for the entire race.
  • No spare bike can be used during or after prologue, day one or day two of any of the series races.
  • Different make and model machines can be used across the event series, as long as the bike/quad falls in the same class category as the rider has nominated for.
  • Quad bikes must be race type quad bikes only. No farm or hybrid style quad bikes are eligible for entry.

Registration:

Riders must present themselves at the registration desks for sign-in prior to having their bike scrutineered. Registration sign-in will occur on Friday (prologue), Saturday and Sunday mornings.
 
Classes:

A total of eight (8) classes will be run for the event;

  • E1 (up to 125cc-2 stroke and up to 250cc 4-stroke)
  • E2 (126cc to 250cc 2-stroke and 251cc to 450cc 4-stroke)
  • E3 (251cc and up 2-stroke and 451cc and up 4-stroke)
  • Ladies (Any bike size and type i.e.quad, two wheel)
  • Pony Express any capacity bikes, two wheel or quad (not eligible for outright win)    
  • Veterans any capacity bikes, both two wheel and quads (35 – 44 years of age) 
  • Masters any capacity bikes, both two wheel and quads (45+ years of age)
  • Quads (four wheels only)
  • Outright
One rider cannot nominate for more than one class
Solo riders are eligible for outright class points as well as their nominated class.
Pony Express class are not eligible for outright placing.
You may change classes up to three (3) weeks prior to the event.
 
Bike Numbers:
  • Bike numbers must be clear and visible (preferably black numbers on a white background)
  • Race numbers are as allocated during your nomination
  • Bikes are to have numbers on LEFT, RIGHT & FRONT number plates
  • Quads are to have numbers on FRONT & REAR number plates
Scrutineering:
  • Bikes/Quads, Helmets and Boots must be presented
  • Quads must have nerf bars and dead mans switch (will be tested)
  • All bikes shall have a bar pad (steering dampeners permitting)
  • Scrutineering officials have the right to reject any bike or riding gear deemed unsafe.  Any work orders given, must be carried out before racing and bikes must be represented to the scrutineering official
  • Tags will be provided and placed on bikes once they have passed scrutineering
  • Failure to attend will result in disqualification
Start Order:
As per prologue results (fastest bike first)
 
Friday Prologue:
  • Prologue is not compulsory. Riders not doing prologue will be placed in starting position as drawn at random
  • Prologue will commence at 1300hrs on Friday
  • Bike (two wheel) prologue will be run first, followed by Quad (4 wheel) bikes
  • Pony Express class to run last
  • Top 20 placed riders from last years event will be given same place start order for prologue event in the bike or quad classes
  • Pony express teams can nominate one rider to ride the prologue for their team
  • Prologue riders briefing will be held at 1215hrs on Friday of the event weekend
 
Machines (Two Wheel):
Bikes must be Motocross or Off-road style bike and of any age
Bike must be in sound condition and able to pass scrutineering
  • Scrutineering checks generally consist of:
  • Throttle return
  • brake & clutch effectiveness
  • handlebar end plugs
  • brake and clutch levers to be ball ended
  • Kill switch test must have bike running to check
  • Nerf bars- foot peg height and no wider than rear wheels
  • Check steering (tie-rod ends secured and steering column minimal play)
  • Check spilt pins-hubs and axle free-play
  • Check wheel-nuts
  • fluid leaks
  • Engine mount bolts secure
  • Muffler Secure
  • wheel & frame bearing free-play
  • Swing arm bearing free-play
  • chain adjustment, sprocket bolts secure
  • Secure plastics
  • Number plates front and rear 
  • Boot soles in good condition
  • Helmet in good condition (no cracks deep scratches)
Scrutineering Checklist  –  Quad Bikes:
  • Throttle return

Fuel Transportation Saturday & Sunday:
Organisers will transport fuel to the 50km fuel point for competitors. A fuel trailer and vehicle will be located in the pit area. This trailer will return to the pits at the end of each day’s racing.
  • Fuel must be placed on the trailer by 7.30am on both Saturday and Sunday mornings
  • Riders must provide their own fuel.
  • All engines will be turned off whilst refueling.
  • Fuel must be stored in approved plastic fuel storage containers.
  • Only approved fuel storage containers in good condition will be allowed into the track refueling area (approximately 50km point of the track).
  • Ensure you have your race number on all containers “clearly marked”
  • All riders are responsible for refueling their own machines
  • Riders are to remove their containers at the end of each day’s racing from the fuel trailer
